Katrina will cost the republican party some votes in November... mostly votes in that region.

From some PBS shows I have seen on this over the past few days while the one year anniversary is approaching, it appears that Katrina rehabilitation has failed in the entire region. I am just wondering where the billions of dollars of private donations have gone. Emphasis on private.. not fema or government funds.

I think we tend to blame the republicans because they were the dummies who combined fema with the homeland security department. So, they ask for it.

No, because it was the Democrat Governor of Louisiana and the Democrat Mayor of New Orleans that screwed things up, not the Federal Government.

Oh, and Bush doesn't have a giant weather control machine.

The Little Green Men do, but they weren't even in our solar system at the time. Plus they like Mardi Gras, so it couldn't have been them.

Why do people act like this was the first and only hurricane that ever happened, and the first time that there has been difficulties with disaster relief?

I think between Katrina, the War's, and gas prices the republican party is in serious damger of loosing in November. Not that it's ALL the repbulicans fault but some people think it is.

It's a good chance that it will. A majority of Americans sympathize with the Democratic view on most issues, witht he exception of Terrorism. There, the Republicans hold a small lead. Democrats even hold a lead in their view on Iraq.

It's common knowledge that the government screwed up on Katrina. The screwups are history now, and they will be remembered on Election Day.

No way. The nation knows only a liberal state like Louisiana would have the problems they have and cry it is President Bush's fault. You don't see any other states having those problems. Only with a liberal Governor and Mayor who didn't do their jobs.

I hope it will cost the Republicans the presidency, as for congress it is coming up soon and I can't wait to vote and see what happens.

Maybe, but republicans are great at shifting responsibility and blame to others, (it is how they were brought up)
