Depends on the stamp. Is it new, with its gum on it, has it been cancelled, is it rare, is it affixed to an envelope; you must give much more information for someone to begin to give a correct answer.

No one can give you a direct answer with so little information, but you might be able to find out for yourself by following the advice at http://www.virtualstampclub.com/inherit.html - it doesn't matter whether you inherited the stamp or not; the advice is good.
Consider starting a stamp collection with this item - it's a GREAT hobby!

Which stamp? What condition?
Unless it is very rare it must be in pristine condition for a collector to even contemplate.
Even Penny Blacks ( the first postage stamp) go for very little these days unless they have a full white border round them.
