Absolutely.

Some human beings will never even come close to comprehending the term 'maturity'.

But some human beings inspire me to be better.

I guess it's all relative to one's experiences in life as well as their education.

Lack of maturity and ignorance often go hand in hand.

You know I have thought this myself, but now.... I dont think that I do believe this statement. Sure there is a level of subjectivity in humans, but ultimately how mature we are (or our level of maturity) is always going to judged (like as in determined) by our peers and those others around us. But in my head I hit 30 when I was 40 and 35 just recently (I'm 50), I just dont feel like I think I should feel at this age. I base this view on impressions from others, past history, and so on. Yet I dont consider myself immature and I know from experience that friends and peers think I'm a bit wise. That DOES make me feel old and very mature!!! Cool question.

Indeed. It's entirely a subjective subject.

Physical maturaity and emotional maturity don't always go hand in hand.

Yes indeed. It is subjective to age, group/society, situation and above all values you have developed.

But importantly consistancy has to be there.

Duh! Gimme my 2 points. Aren't all human traits kind of case-by-case? I know 30 year old college grads who still live with their parents and I know people with Down's syndrome who live on their own. Is that about maturity or fortitude?
Grow up already!

is it? i thought maturity began when someone decides to be responsible for his or her own action/decisions.

Sometimes it's more fun to be immature.
