As a rule, yes. You have to adapt to different situations, cultures, people. It broadens your horizons, thoughts and how we look at the world.
It can be a truly enriching experience. I normally travel alone. The travel time is when I commune with nature, and look at some of the events that happened in a different perspective. So, for me, it does have a positive effect on me.

Unfortunately no. But it can broaden your outlook on life especially if you visited places like India or South America.
