Well let's think about this; one has claws, big teeth, eats meat and weighs 400-600Kg (adult male), the other eats plants and weighs 135-275(adult male) I think I would put my money on the Polar bear

Ah, I love these classic Versus questions! Well a polar bear would win straight out. Polar bears though they look cuddle are far more aggresive that silver back gorrila's, they also weigh more and are probably stonger. A gorilla also cannot match the polar bear for weaponry. Though the gorrila has some sharp insisor teeth the polar bear has more, has a stronger bit and has massive paws with very sharp claws. A gorilla does not and would be very exposed. Nevertheless the gorrila would put up an amazing fight but I am affraid the bear wins it.
Now how about Gorrilla V A Wolverine??

In terms of strength, the polar bear will win simply on mass, size, and physical strength.
It's difficult to gauge the skills and abilities of either animal. We perceive the gorilla as having greater agility and skill but there is no real proof that a polar bear is not equally skilled and does or does not have effective strategies against an animal that is smaller but more agile.
But if the polar bear can restrict the combat to a contest of pure strength, the polar bear will win... if the gorilla can turn the fight into one of endurance, speed, and agility and make use of tools and terrain (trees to climb, etc), then the gorilla would probably win.
Consider 300 pound of rippling muscle in a wrestler against a very skilled martial artist but weighs only 50 pounds... if the 300 pound wrestler grapples the martial artist, pinning hands and feet, the wrestler will simply win. If the highly trained martial artist has ample room and favorable weapons and terrain, the martial artist might be able to win based on strategy.
However, as I said, it's really hard to evalute the fighting skills of a polar bear since they have no natural enemies.

While most people would like to believe the polar bear would win due to sheer size they are not thinking about the way that a gorilla fights. While the bear is larger it has stiff movement and the gorilla also can grab and pull. It would climb on the back and could rip its mouth open. It could also pound on the bear, which is a greater force then the bear has. So for me the gorilla would win.

It would depend on the environment. A gorilla may not have the same kind of power as a polar bear, but in a tree-filled jungle, the polar bear would probably be worn down by the heat while trying to chase the gorilla.

A polar bear is known as the most violent creature on land, but a gorilla is smarter. It would depend on the environment as well. Polar bears live in the artic where it is cold. Gorillas live in the safari where it is warm. If it was in anywhere warm, gorilla. Anywhere cold, Polar bear. However i would say that a polar bear would be able to defeat a gorilla in a neutral temperature.

They are both pretty ugly animals - polar bear's fur goes nasty yellow colour once it's not a baby, and check out the gorilla's face! Anyway, back to the question - definitely a polar bear through sheer brute strength.

Well a polar bear is one of the largest carnivores on earth while a gorilla is a benign herbivore. So through sheer natural aggression and killing instinct a polar bear every time!

The gorilla has better agility and if he was smart he would swipe at the eyes of the polar bear and finish him off.
Thats if the polar bear didnt get in a swipe first which would probably knock the living daylights out of the gorilla.

It depends of the place of fight and local conditions
If that is happened in polar so the bear is winner but if you take then in hot weather so the gorilla is winner

In an environment which suited both and gave neither the advantage, the polar bear would be certain to win, based on size and brute strength.
But I agree, if these two animals were to meet, its unlikely they would confront each other. Animals tend to have more repect for the unknown than we humans. I think they would give each other a good lookover, and then give each other a wide berth .
