Is there some do-it-yourself kit or something?

For those of you who need a motive, the AC thermostat is in a room where my grandma sleeps and I do not want to wake her when I change the air condition settings.

Yes you can. If you live in Ontario, you can actually get the kit for the AC for free from Ontario Hydro One (our provincial utility). It's just a simple matter of logging into your AC unit from anywhere in the world. I'm not sure if it's avaliable where you live, but here's a little info on it. http://hydroone.apogee.net/smartstat/

Short answer...Not easily.
Long answer...check out home hvac automation systems. You're going to, at the very least, have to replace your present thermostat with one that can be programmed and networked...either to your computer or to a home automation system.
If you feel up to replacing the thermostat, you can just go to home depot or lowes and get a digital programmable thermostat that you can program different settings for different times of the day. Set it up to change the temperature around Grandma's bedtime and there you have it.

Absolutely you can.

However, you could also just move the thermostat and it would be a lot easier. That's a guarantee. You could also get a programmable thermostat and program it to change settings throughout the day/week so you don't have to change them. Available at any hardware store.

You would have to use a home automation system. X10 (www.x10.com) offers a lot of home automation/security products.
