I am 28 weeks pregnant and my left hip is killing me. Has been for the last month and a half. I talked to my doctor about it and got the usual. (Your hips are most likely speading, take tylenol for pain) He also has me going back to my chiro. for it. Needless to say nothing is helping. Any one else have this problem while pregnant? If so how did you cope?

The above link will give you a bit of information on sciatic nerve pain. Often times hip problems during pregnancy are because of pressure on the sciatic nerve. I had this problem each pregnancy. It got worse during my second pregnancy and for months after the birth I had trouble walking. I was told that if I were to get pregnant again I'd likely need a cane during the pregnancy. But I'm 13 weeks and so far I've only had minor pain. I see a massage therapist twice a month and she takes special care with that area. We're hoping that it won't be a major issue this pregnancy.

If you can, see a massage therapist. At the very least, talk to your doctor. They can teach you some stretching exercises that can help keep the area loose.

I am having that problem also right now. It is caused by your hips spreading most of the time. Sometimes if it is really sharp the hip spreading could be causing pain in the sciatic nerve. that is the nerve on the outside of your hip and runs down the leg. i didn't have this with my other two, but with this one I do. try and do some stretching daily, this may help. good luck

I had this with all three pregnancies. Swimming really helped me. Being in the water helps relieve pressure. And you can stretch so much better in the water. Hang in there you are over half way there.
