I used to live in Katherine in the Northern Territory, I am wondering if anybody else has been there and what they thought of it.

I loved it! Fantastic weather and we always used to stay at this caravan park with all the other travellers and there were hot springs down the back. I'd get up first thing in the morning and just float around this huge natural bath and the only thing you would here is the birds in the trees and whatever else was running about in the scrub :P

I'm not sure I could live there (not as many shops as a girl needs :P) but I used to get up there once a year (I'm from just south of Perth) and I'd go back in a flash if I could get the holidays.

Yep. Great place, and the Gorges are fantastic.

I was staying in a caravan park, watching the usual insipid "cultural" performance when the bass player of Yothu Yindi turned up and took over. Turned into a great night.

I haven't yet made it to NT, but it's on my list of things to do before I die and I really want to see Katherine.

I have not been yet. My parents did the whole grey nomad thing and they loved it in Katherine
