i really like this guy but he lives far away. he's a friend of a friend and we always talk on msn and all. and he says he likes talking to me cause i inspire him to write his stories. and when he was drunk he blurted out that he cared about me..but i don't know for sure if he likes me. any suggestions of how i could find out?..without asking him the direct question.

yeah when he was drunk he thought i was mad at him and he told me he was sorry and he didn't want to make me mad cause he cared about me. then he offered me a flower lol...cheesy

Just keep talking to him for a while. Be warm but, don't bring up what he said when he was drunk. Ask him questions like what it is about you that inspires him. You could even hint that it would be nice if he would call on the phone. Flirt a little but, go slowly and carefully. Then wait and see if he responds warmly. Good luck.

the best way to find out if you should move on is to ask him how he feels about you. don't pressure him to make a commitment you may push him away. if he just wants to be friends then you will know not to let yourself get in any deeper. i have a feeling you would rather have the fantasy continue the way it is than to risk his rejection. and my advice is to find another man that interests you. long distance love affairs very seldom work out.

Do not be afraid of asking him directly.
Say "when you were intoxicated, you may or may not realize it, but you told me you really cared about me. What else can you tell me about this cuz I'm curious?"
Just do it, you'll be glad you did.
