No, when women loose power it destroys family values.

Actually it is. Ever since the rise of feminism, the divorce rate has skyrocket. In a culture where men believe they should be breadwinners and all of a sudden find women trying to compete with them, the family is disrupted. I've had women get "mad" because I wanted to open their door or pay for a meal. However, if a man beats up her up like he would a man that is being a dick, I'm sure the double standard will be okay. Women may be better off financially speaking, but family is taking a hit due to it.

I wish you would have went into more details with your question. I believe a woman should still be submissive her husband. I don't believe in a man beating or going over board but I do believe the man should be the head of the house hold. I won't lie I am pretty much the head of my house hold but I try to get my husband to step up but he's just not the dominate kind. But I do believe woman have rights. Don't really know what ur wanting to know. Sorry!

If by family values you mean the right to send your family to die in a meaningless war, or the right to kill innocent civilians, or the right to turn a blind eye to economic poverty as defined by right-wingers, then yes, family values are being obliterated.

it's like any other philosophy or religion, people take it too far. when households went from being single-income to dual-income, purchases went up, which meant production went up, which mean prices went up, and now it's EXPECTED that every household be dual-income just to survive.

i've worked in a day-care center and in a pre-school education center. those kids are genuinely and honestly hurt that they're being separated from their mothers and fathers. we could laugh and call it just a part of growing up, but even mother birds wouldn't throw their babies out of the nest before they were ready.

it's the same thing that always happens when a good idea gets taken hostage by a fanatic with the power to impress sheep-people who just need something to believe in and to blame their problems on. lump all the blame into one ball of anger and you'll get your way, but beware what you wish for. yeah, ladies, now you're free to work and get a job any time you please. but if you want to have a family one day? want to take care of your own kids? no such luck, not unless your husband happens to be able to bring in enough to cover all the expenses all on his own. which is getting rarer and rarer these days.

Hmmmm.
Same question occurred to me yesterday.

It looks like it is.
Independence is great, but there is nothing to compare with family. Urban families are OK, but they are not good enough for someone who has good (real)family relationships.

I am a female. And I like to be independent, but family is on the first place. And same should be for the men.

YES!!! And even my wife agrees, and so do most of my buddies wives.

I appreciate and respect the fact that my Mom chose to stay home, for years and years as we grew up, instead of popping us out and going to work a year later as we were raised by a nanny...what the hell is the point of that.

Girls today think that they have to be all independent but thats our own fault cause we didnt appreciate all that was done at home in a day while we were at work.

If these chicks realized that men do appreciate what they do at home, maybe they wouldnt be so damn eager to get out and prove themselves.

Maybe, I think that it has brought about some good changes to start with but I think that abortion is totally wrong and I am horrified that women would fight for the right to kill their baby before it is born.

Nope, it's allowing women to have the choice of what kind of family they want and if they even want a family at all.

this question shows you are still trying to live in the fifties. Are you over 80 years old maybe? Where have you been?
