That is a huge question since many movies are based on great literary masterpieces.

I love films which revolve around music like Tender Mercies, Black Orpheus, Assassination Tango, etc.

Les Enfants du Paradis, my favorite film, has much music but it is based on the contrast between a mime and a very eloquent actor.

I like movies on poets only if they do justice to the poetry instead of focusing on gory details of the poets life; Sylvia with Glynneth was pretty good but could have been better.
