Only if you are in the direct path of the hurricane. Watch the weather forecasts as they track the path of the hurricane...then do what they say if you are in danger. Hurricanes as evidenced by Katrina can devestate an area where it hits. If you are on the coast & in the path, water as well as the strong winds do a lot of damage. I have lived through many hurricanes on the East coast & central NC. They can be bad but not always. I repeat listen to the weather casts & be prepared. They & the emergency departments will let you know and let you know how to be prepared & whether or not to evacuate. Do not panic over this...You may worry for no reason. Take it a day at the time, wait, watch & listen. Where by the way do you live...You may be in no danger at all. Let's hope for the best.

I've lived through every Florida hurricane since 1981. Don't be scared, just use your head. If you're in a danger zone, pack your essentials and leave. Otherwise, keep water, candles, and canned goods in your house, be somewhere sturdy, and make sure you like the company you're keeping (cause you might be spending lots of tech-free time together). The worst parts about hurricanes for me was the boredom after the electric went out. Nothing to do but salt and dry the meats around the house, drink wine, and sleep.

Depends on what category it gets to. I survived Andrew, which was the storm of the century, but then again I have not lived 100 years. A category 3 hurricane is pretty dangerous though. I suggest that you board your windows when any hurricane comes, no matter what category because hurricanes have been known to strike land, then go back into the ocean, restrengthen, and strike land over and over again. Depending on the severity of the storm they can also spawn tornadoes as well, so yes, be afraid.

Don't be scared;be prepared. Its the best possible thing. Have enough food, water, and supplies. Its okay to be nervous, but luckily if it does happen you won't be a shock. Get it over with and you'll be fine!

depends on where you live and where its going. i live in the panhandle of florida and im a little nervous right now. if it gets in the gulf of mexico i will be in full blown panic! ive been through 4 in my life, and Ivan was the worst for me. there were tornadoes dropping left and right! all i did was sit in a bathtub with pillows and blankets and cry! i leave everytime if one comes this way. i couldnt imagine what katrina was like, and i dont want to.

Yes, you should be scared enough to find a safe place, if you can.

That depends on where you live. If that happens to be near the gulf coast, then I wouldn't waste time worrying, I'd leave.

It depends on where you live. See if you live by Florida or in you should be but if you live a couple of states up I don't see why you should.
