both, depends on the mood. sometimes it's nice to relinquish all authority and be told what to do, other times it's nice to be the controller

Everyone plays control games. Some actually get off on it.
While many control others out of fear that one will try and control them.
The Celestine Prophesies books state that we play control
dramas, because we have cut ourself off from the Source of
Life. And do this controlling to manipulate other peoples energy.
The dramas are "the poor me", who makes you feel sorry for
them. The "intimidater", that blows up. The "interrogator", who
asks questions until one finds something he can use against you. And the "aloof", who gives you the silent treatment.
Supposedly, we all fit into one of these categories. But of
course, if we would accept the LIFE that is all around us. We
could refrain from doing these things.

that is a tough question as I feel that it depends on the situation. By that I mean that I am comfortable in either role as the situation dictates. For sure if some else is the subject matter expert I would willingly wish them to take charge, however if it is something that I excel in I would be just as comfortable taking the lead. Or do you mean this in a sexual context? If so, I am wanting to try out being submissive as I have discovered that I get much pleasure from pleasing others.
