You can. there is no need to get separate line.

Just get a DSL router (wireless is also available) and you just need to connect different computer to the router and both computer can online at the same time.

Go wireless then you won't have all those cables. Linksys has a great router that hooks to your current DSL line and you can have 4 cables or it goes wireless so you don't have all those lousy cables. It's only about $50 and if you go wireless you can take your laptop anywhere in the house. I even go outside on the porch when it's nice.
We used to have cables all over the floor and we had to stay in the same room when we were using our laptops. Now we have the wireless hooked up to the main desktop and we take our laptops all over. It's great and all laptops have the capability to set up a wireless connection in just a few minutes.
Since we sometime have 4 laptops going at the same time it works great for us.

The most common way to do this, is to attach the DSL modem to a router. The router then splits the connection off into many other computers.

You can also connect the DSL modem to one computer and then have that computer share with the other one, but I think that's harder and don't know much about it.

Yes, 2 different computers can be online at the same time! If you have DSL and you have a 2wire it will allow you to have at lease 3 computers at the same time.

Yes. But, you need to create a home network to do this.
You'll need a router connected to your DSL modem (either wireless or wired router), then you'll need to set up your own internal network. The router shares the single connection to the outside world with several computers (and printers or whatever) .

Same DSL Line and a Router can do it. Many ISPs provide modem which in itself is router.

If not router then their is complicated way of doing it to enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on the computer which has got internet. then connect other computer to your main computer. You will require 2 ethernet connectors on main computer on for getting internet other to give internet.

Yes, the beaut of TCP/IP, you can use a router, and you can connect 4 computers at least to the same connection, the thing is that they would have to share the broad band, meaning the velocity of the internet coneection.

One line is sufficent for more than 4 pcs.
1- You need to get a router
2- Extra RJ45 cable for the other computer.

You just need a router. You put the cord you'd normally put in the back of the computer to the router and then the other cord from the router to the computer.

You don't need a separate line. Just make sure that you know the network key if you're connecting to a secured network.
