Make sure it's clean, maybe try some neosporin, and wrap it just to protect it and keep it clean. Change the wrap everyday, nail will fall off on it's own. If it starts getting pus, or turning a funky color, or swelling really bad, go to the doctor asap. Probably gonna hurt and be a little swollen and red. Just keep an eye on it and baby it.

soak nail clippers in alcohol for a min of 10 min. then clip as close to the skin as what you can the part that is hanging. Pour peroxide over the toe- do not dry-when it self dries put on triple anti biotic oint. for about 3 day -then leave open to air, cont to clip the nail until it starts to come in evan, once it is healed it will not hurt to put alcohol over your toe, after clipping-all of these instruction are to keep sterile tech.

See a doctor unless you can endure the agony of completing the nail-ripping process without anesthesia

Here's what you do. Take some pliers and rip all the nails off your other toes. That way they'll match. By that time the rest of your insurance should kick in.

Wrap that thing up securely but not too tight. Dont want to cut off circulation. You may want to try and cut off the hanging toenail and dead skin. It is going to hurt like hell but this is about all the doc is gonna do for ya anyway.

finish it. get a plier, wash the foot well, splash on some alcohol , then yank-- fast smooth hard. apply triple antibiotic ointment with lidocain.. change bandage daily till healed. OR ,IF YOU CANNOT YANK, just clean well, and apply antibiotic ointment with bandage daily till a few days after the nail comes off, and the new one starts to grow in.

If it's not bleeding, just wrap it lightly with gauze. The nail will die and you will be able to just trim it off. Bleeding. I would clean it under cold water, then put peroxide on it. Then wrap it in gauze.

i understand your need of not wanting to see a doc with your insurance deduct but by avoiding one you may expose yourself to a very unhealthy infection which could lead to something much more seriouse. never, ever put your health second. you have insurance so use it. so what if you have to pay for an office visit ... if you are tight on cash, make an appt during office hours vs after hour emergency room .. it will save you a ton of cash. again, please take care of yourself!
