Get out and meet the public, attend every event you can so people get to know you, get lots of party support, get lots of positive publicity for yourself in every media outlet possible--in the end that will be what gets you where you want to go--the press.

Be real and true always. This is a hard thing for any politician. But if you don't win then you know that you did the best you possibly could and will have no real regrets to look back on. Good luck to you and this challenge.
