The only control they could exert is financial, +use that to sway political,if they controlled by physical force would be more obvious, well I would have thought Gates and Buffet would have been members if such a thing existed, but seeing they "seemingly just gave a good chunk of their money away" maybe no such thing exists, unless the whole charity thing is a huge smokescreen,hwaaa...whaahhaaa.... sorry i read a few of the answers before i answered. but im sure we all do sometimes. let me tell you a story... i recently moved from a house where i had cable television... mindless, boring, routine **** day after day right? but i moved into a new house but we didnt have cable TV all I have now is the Internet (oh how a wonderful thing) and the more I research online the more I discover about big corporations, the media, NWO, the Illuminati, 9/11 just so much more information so much more realness... It finally makes sense why the world, why this country is like it is... and advise you to do the same thing... but to answer your question... YES... more then what we will ever know.

Yep. I think most of the Answerers here hit the obvious candidates on the head:

--Big Oil,
--Big Banking,
--Big Religion,
--Big Media,
--and Big MONEY, as in your CEO Class, in general.

One not so obvious thing: these people, who *ever* they are, hiding in plain sight as they do, are obsessed with LAND.

And not just real estate mind you. They seem to be obsessed with maintaining some sort of *illusion* of an Agrairian Society, or a Class of Farmers, in the face of *most of food production's being mechanized and totally industrialized*. Take a good look at Texas sometime, or at some parts of the Wine/Vineyard industries (be they in California or in South Africa)....some people are pumping *serious* cash flow into at least maintaining the *appearance* of not just Farmer Culture, but a downright good-old-boy-ish Plantation Culture. And I am talking above and beyond what it takes to keep Modern Agriculture going.

Do we *need* to maintain the Cattleman culture in West Texas? No, we could get the beef more efficiently in other ways. How about the Brandy and Wine combines down in South Africa? Nope. It could all be done better and *without* crippling generations of African farmers with multiple generations of addiction to *free alcohol*.

But somebody has an *investment* going on in Agrairian Societies, not as businesses, but as models....for social control perhaps?

It is worth looking into, if discreetly. ;)

You mean like the Illuminati? Well, they are there but the question is: are they really "controling" the world? It seems somewhat out of control to me but perhaps there's some plan that I'm unaware of and all the pieces are actually falling right into place. That's a scary thought - then again the place being as truly out of control as it appears is scary too. Sigh... Okay, I'm gonna vote for totally out of controll world. Yep, that seems the most likely.
