Depends on your riding skill. I'm not going to ask you about your riding history because you didn't want me to ask you a question. But I will say both are extremly fast bikes and are capabile of some insane speeds (like 0-60mph in under 3 seconds!)
And don't buy a GSX-R750 or even a liter bike right off the bat- you need time to LEARN.
Anyways, the Hodna CBR600RR is a very nice machine. I think it looks great, super quick, handles great, lightweight. And so is the Yamaha YZF-R6. The new R6 is also very quick, but is geared for more of a track bike than a commuter. The 17,500 rpm redline is great, until you need to ride it on the street. You have to rev the little 4 cylinder to over 13,000 rpm to get any power, which gets annoying on the street and has every boy racer in his Civic wanting to race you.
The CBR600RR also has a high redline of 15,000 rpm, but you can shift sooner, thanks to the fact the Honda produces better bottom-end torque. But the Yamaha has a higher top-end, producing more power overall (it makes 116-hp at the rear wheel, the CBR sends 109-hp to the rear wheel).
Both have a vast amount of aftermarket upgrades and support. But it all comes down to what you want- a track bike (R6) or a commuter that can also rip up the track (the CBR).

is this your first motorcycle? even if if it truly is I recommend a yamaha YZF600r or maybe a six hundred Katana. in case you recognize the thank you to holiday..... R6! i've got owned 2 i admire those motorcycles. The extra moderen physique style for my section is grotesque. i recognize very own a 2003 Silver R6. yet once you sense your self leaning in the direction of yet another style attempt the Kawasaki 636. Little extra displacement than the 599cc R6. yet Everyones likes are diverse. I artwork at a Suzuki dealership and park my R6 on the front part walk and capture hell accepted. So.... pick what you're gentle with journey smart and easily actual convenience. Gel seat is all i'm asserting! Hahahaa!

If this is your first bike, NEITHER! You are NOT the exception to the rule, and "But I'm really careful!" doesn't cut it either. The bikes in question are made for speed-of-thought handling, and unless you understand EXACTLY what you're doing, your first crash will be at 100mph instead of 30.
If given the choice, I would probably go for the CBR. The R6 is dead sexy, but the CBR is a better all-rounder. Besides, red bikes go faster.

yazukka has given an excellent answer from a technical standpoint. I'd just like to add that you should ride them both and see which you prefer. My preference is the CBR as they are more rideable on a daily basis. The R6 is more track-focused. There's a reason the CBR is consistently the best selling sportsbike in the world...but try them for yourself.

todays 600 supersports are all good there isnt a bad one in the lot. Pick the one you like the looks of, because 3 HP there 3LBs there its not going to make a differance riding on the street. If your racing other factors come involved such as race contingencies, and what and who your sponsors may be. Buy the one that turns your crank.
