what repairs common on toyota avalon?

Got a '99. Everything works well. The only complaint is the electrical work because the cab light doesn't work. I suspect it because the driver's sunshade fell out along with the wires.

Toyata Avalon at one time had a history of the engine
oil turning to gel and ruining the engine..
Toyota issued a special warranty to cover this particular
engine failure and did a pretty good job of keeping it quiet..
I don't know what year models of Avalon had this problem
and when or if they got it fixed...
