i know WWE wrestling is fake, but where does the blood come from then?

So I havn't watched WWE wrestling for a long while now, I guess when I moved. And today I was flippin through channels and started watching it, then at the end "Degeneration X" got beat like crazy and started bleeding...a lot. do you think that it's the only real part about it? or do you think there's packs of fake blood in their hair or something?

My daughter is into wrestling and I had to explain to her that is is "rehearsed entertainment" I don't like to call it "fake" because they are real entertainers to me. Anyway, I found a GREAT article at wikpedia.com- it's long so I'm just going to link you to it. but it has all the info on how the wrestlers get the blood and some of the moves etc. It's really interesting.

The wrestling is fake to the point where they know who is going to win and certain things are planned out. Also moves are choreographed, but the falling and hitting can be real. The pain is certainly real to the wrestlers.

I saw on a tv show, that they sometimes have a small piece of razor blade, under their thumbnail..they'll actually cut the other guy.usually in the hairline/forehead , so it won't permanently disfigure the guy, but head/face has lots of blood vessels and so you'll bleed ALOT and look BAD...but the cuts aren't deep and will heal up soon.

Sometimes it's pack of fake blood, but you gotta also remember that even though staged its still a contact sport. Accidents happen, Especially in ECW where they use Barb wires and sometime real punches.

BY and large it is fake blood, but sometimes accidents will happen and it is real blood.
