I am 25 years old and never pregnant. For the first time in the 13 years that I have been menstruating, I missed my period this month. I am almost 7 days late. I have already taken the First Response pregnancy test, 1 last night, and 1 this morning, and both came up negative. My boyfriend thinks that the date of conception was August 20. We are planning on seeing a doctor in a couple of days, but in the meantime I'd like some advice and see if I need to start thinking about names or if I'm just worried over nothing.

It's possible it could be stress. It could also be possible that your boyfriend is right. In which case, you might not be producing enough hormones to get a positive read yet. I would relax and wait for the Dr visit. Don't waste more money with HPT's when you already have an appt in a couple days anyway.

It is very possible that you might be pregnant, then again, you might not be. I would suggest waiting another week, if no period by then, then re-test. If you get another negative result, then it would be time to see a doctor to find out the cause of the missed period. I had the same experience, where I missed my period, took 2 pregnancy tests and both came out negative, but I was pregnant. I tested 2 weeks later and they were positive. So, give it some time, but don't go out buying baby clothes yet! Try the link below, you might find some helpful information.

Missing your period doesn't always mean you're pregnant, even though you've always been regular. Did you have unprotected sex and are you feeling tired, breast tenderness, nausea? The home pregnancy tests are very accurate, but you can have false negative results. Take it again first thing in the morning, as your hormones will be at their highest. If it comes back positive at any point, you are DEFINITELY pregnant. You will know for sure in a couple of days when you see the dr. and it's always good to prepare yourself. Good luck!

There's not much we hear could tell you that would help you find out any sooner. Home pregnancy tests are most accurrate 7-10 days after your missed period, while a Dr.'s blood test is accurrate 10 days after ovulation, so you're technically to soon for either to tell you whether you're pregnant or not. I certainly wouldn't be picking out names until you find out for sure.
Home pregnancy tests measure HCG, and even if you had conceived, that wouldn't be measurable by a home test yet. Obviously there's a chance, ANY time you have unprotected sex there's a chance, with the average woman having a 20% chance of getting pregnant if she has unprotected sex during ovulation.

The best this is go for a pregnancy test once again bcoz there shouldn't be any doubt in yourself. However once when your test says negetive then I don't think there is a chance however, without proper test even the doctors cant confirm. Regarding your periods, there can be many reasons for delay, even I didn't have any periods for the 2 months but that was for some other reason.

that is tough!! all the advice i can give is wait and try not to stress for a few days and take another test(morning urine is best!!) and just keep taking tests till you go to the doctor, but dont worry yet, if its meant o happen believe me it will!!! i was 17 and was on birth control and still got pregnant!!! i now have a 2 year old that is the love of my life and her daddy, (my husband) are living happily!! so just relax and if its meant to happen it will there isnt much you can do but sit back and wait. i know thats the last thing you want to hear(read) at this moment but seriously just relax.

If you did conceive on the 20th then it is too early to to have missed your period. You conceive when you have sex and sperm meats egg. That happens at ovulation. Ovulating happens around 14 days before your period comes (if not pregnant)

So...if you ovulated/conceived around the 20th then your period wouldn't be due until the 3rd of Sep.

Now if you still say that you are almost a week late and you are indeed pregnant then it happened before th 20th.

perhaps u'r too stressed out thinking about whether u'r pregnant or not n it takes a toll on ur hormones n leads to late periods.maybe u could try other brands of pregnancy tests aand if it's stil negative u could be just freaking out.our body hormones r very unpredictable.but the best choice is to see a doctor, pronto! good luck.

since your boyfriend thinks that the date of conception was only eight days ago,it probably is to early to tell. try not to worry and since you have a Dr.s appointment in a couple of days you should find out for sure at this time. good luck to you both.
