What is it about Ghetto people not tipping?

And I dont mean just black Ghetto people. All races can have that Ghetto mentality. I used to be a waitress, and it seemed that every Ghetto table I had to wait on, they would either tip very little or nothing at all. I know they know about tipping, because they seem to find every little excuse to not tip a waitress. 'She looked at me wrong! Well she aint getting a tip!' And why do they run their waitress only to not reward them for it with a tip? Please explain. And dont give me the crap that all ghetto people are not like that, because the majority of them are. And dont give me the they dont have enough money crap either. If they don't have the money, why go out?!

Damn babygirl, I hear alot of heat in your question, but my honest opinion is that it is just that they have no class!, and have not been told the proper way to tip and how much to tip, this also applies to service workrs also, if you take a job where most of your income will result from tipping customers, then you should know that you won't get tips for JUST doing your job, tips aren't deserved their earned for great attentive service and going above and beyond the job description...YES I tip, but only for good service.

If you wait on tables and you tell yourself that the person you wait on won't tip you--they won't tip you. I paid my way through college driving a Gypsies cab. I worked third avenue El, Fordham Road, the Concourse, Harlem and the Ho stroll in the wee hours of the morning. I used to hear other drivers complain. Every type that they did not pick up because they were bad tippers--I made sure I introduced myself to them. I used a street name. I lit their cigarettes. I gave them jokes. I used to take nips of brandy to the "Ho stroll"--Hunts Point and Delancy Street and give the girls on cold nights. When rowdy customers were giving them trouble I would cruise along and clear my throats "Giving you any trouble honey?" You should have seen my tips on weekends. Christmas times my regular customers would give me $Big Dogs. It is about attitude.
On a Saturday, I would help the older ladies and take the grocery to their doors. If they had less than $5.00 they would apologize and make it up the following week. They would wait for me.

honey, I have seen affluent people with a party of 15 at a restaurant only give a 5.00 tip. Some people live off of the mentality that they are supposed to be waited on, regardless of the shade of their skin.

Thats genuine! I def. depart tips all of the time, reason tips is quite what waitresses' or waiters stay off of! I hate while the staff are impolite, then if so I depart without giving any tip!

tipping isn't a must do in life. you tip when you want to and when you dont you dont. tips shouldn't be expected when your making an hourly wage.tipping is an act of kindness and completely up to the person who has the decision to tip or no tip.
