zig zag is a line that goes back and forth. A soldier will run in a zig zag fashion to have a better chance of survival. You can also use a trim to put on clothes that is called rickrack and it is in a zigzag pattern. Best wishes!

Zig zag implies that you travel in a right to left, left to right direction like a grapevine pattern. Think of crossing your foot diagonally in front of your body, then moving your other foot behind you in in the same direction. You continue to criss cross until you reach your final destination.

A zig zag course is one where the direction of travel continuously changes from right to left , then right and left, on and on.
Used to be the course taken by ships during the war, to make it difficult for submarines to hit them with a torpedo.
People using that analogy mean, you don't stay on a straight course, but continuously change directions, making you unpredictable (which is scary to most!)
