Well, I saw on a documentary somewhere that machines at least as light as cats were being used to set off land mines.

But read this personal description of someone that found an unburied land mine:

"Marwah picked up this metal thing and started playing with it. Sukna said it might be dangerous, so she threw it away. It hit the ground and blew up and we were all hurt."

Decide for yourself.

1) illegal

2) for a weight activated land mine, it depends on the calibration. you would probably want a weight release mine that wouldnt go off until the cat stepped off of it... the best kind in my opinion would be a hopper that would fly up into the air and frag downward... basically this is going to be the most gore for your buck.

3) at that calibration, the mine would be very sensitive and could go off. a better option would be a mine activated by a trip wire.

No. And there are much more fun ways to kill a cat.

Do it the old fasion way. Can of cat food>box propped open with a stick>string tied to the stick and wait.

Cat gets food you pull the string which pulls the stick out and voila! The cat is now stuck in the box.

Now it is time for the m-80's.

It might be. But think of it this way - it'll only set a mine off once.

Oh, and putting landmines down is illegal.
