I had my resume looked at by a career counselor. I edited it to her standards and sent it out to the places that were hiring and no callbacks. I call back in a week, give them my interest, and they don't call back.

In particular, I did land an interview with a naval museum and passed the first interview with flying colors but I had to get by the new manager coming in and I called his office once a week for a few months and he never returned my calls. The same position opened up again and I submitted a revised resume and called to let him know that I was still interested. Should I give up on the naval museum position? I don't want to because I would like to have it.

So how do I deal with these people that won't call back? Should I keep calling them again, requesting that someone look at my app./resume?

The naval museum position...I am very much qualified for that job. I checked the job description and everything; I incorporated it into my resume with the help of a career counselor.

I would go in to check on my app rather than call. Most people don't have time to take calls. Showing up shows you are serious enough to make an effort. Make sure you dress nice enough for an interview when you go.

if they really find the need to hire you, they won't callback, that's how it is and you can never assume to fast for results, there are lots of resumes on files and probably being prioritized and taken into further consideration, it's not too impossible that your resume will be categorized under new applicant and for further review

not all companies I applied with gave me calls and some called after 3-6 months after i submitted, some when i have myself employed already about a year but some gave me feedback right away, it was really frustrating but it's part of it, it will depend on their need and qualifications

Sometimes you miss things on resumes. Read it and reread it. Make sure it's ok. get a second opinion.
Sometimes it just takes time for someone to call back to invite you to an interview.
Good Luck

Make sure your resume is targeted for the jobs you want. Are you applying for things you are qualified for?
