I am planning on building my first ever PC. What I need to know is if this motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813138272
Will fit into this case:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16811144119
As you can tell Im a noob and I wasnt sure about this when I saw that the back of the case doesnt match the usb, PS2, VGA etc. connecters of the motherboard
Is that flace plate removeable and does the motherboard provide its own plate?
And another thing tell me if my specs are reasonably good
AMD Athlon X2 3800+

Graphics Card

The mobo seems a bit pricey for a socket 939 cpu, with socket AM2 out 939 is last generation. You will only need SLI if you are planning on hard-core gaming. SLI only works with NVidia SLI approved video cards. ATI cards are not SLI compatible, ATI has dual card support with the Crossfire products. Yes it will fit the case though.
The X2 3800 is fine but the lowest dual core AMD. Take the $50 saved from the alternate mobo and apply it toward the X2 4200+.
Sony is over-rated. Many other mfr's make excellent drives also. I like NEC. Look into a retail version for the software, unless you have dvd-burning software already. They only come with basic versions but it is good for the basics.
HDD is fine but NCQ is a good feature (generally faster).
High performance memory is great but it is also more expensive. Got to wonder how much of a performance boost you would actually get from it. Again if you will be gaming then go for it but there are other cheaper alternatives even in the gaming memory. Like the Kingston HyperX.
The X850Xt is faster and cheaper.
Tom's Hardware Guide (last link) has great interactive charts for comparing cpu and video cards. The test and benchmarks multiple brands and you can easily compare the results.
Looks good though, good luck with your build. Don't forget the cables and an OS. If you haven't purchased on OS buy the OEM version, it is the same as the retail only meant to be purchased by computer mfr's.
---Most new mobo's come with network (ethernet) built-in. The one you have chosen does. The HP has integrated graphics, usually ok for surfing and office work but terrible for decent games.

I strongly recommend you get a different motherboard. Biostar is a pretty crappy brand. I'd suggest a Gigabyte or ABit board. MSI and DFI are also pretty good brands. The video card isn't bad, but you might want to consider something with a little more juice. Maybe the x1800.
That case is compatible with any ATX, Micro-ATX, or Baby AT motherboard so you won't have any problems fitting the mobo into it.

Yes that mother board will work with that case. The case is ATX form as is the motherboard. That little face plate can be switched out or ditched all together. The motherboard may come with the proper faceplate for that. your CPu chip is compatible with it. Your RAM is also ok. the HD, CD, and Graphics are just standard and would work with just about every sytem out there.

you're putting mutually an out of date gadget as suggested already. bypass with an AMD (socket AM2) or an Intel. the dual center processors must be had for below $one hundred. Socket AM2 will ward off funds because it attracts a lot less skill subsequently saving your skill invoice and it also makes use of DDR2 RAM that's more cost-effective and swifter than DDR. Getting a board with AGP isn't an excellent theory, Gigabyte is a respected type yet i imagine you'd be more beneficial valuable off looking a motherboard with integrated pictures in protecting with what you're doing. in basic terms make sensible the board has a PCI-exhibit slot for upgradability do you ought to regulate your concepts. A motherboard with an NVidia6100 will paintings in basic terms besides because the cardboard you're gazing. My suggestion in words of cost is except you've already got an operating gadget, you'd be more beneficial valuable off paying for an finished premade gadget. i locate the spoil even cost of shopping for/progression a computing device is round $650. something a lot less you may purchase one, something more beneficial you ought to guage progression. in case you've already got skill to an OS (Linux or pirated XP yet NO VISTA) then the cost will be quite on the brink of a similar both way.

If you aren't too sure on what to buy, go to your local PC hardware store and ask, if not local, find a nice Computer shop and get them to help.
I've have plenty of problems picking up an AT motherboards with an ATX case, or forgot to buy standoffs and zapped my processor to hell and back.
But in your question here, I don't see a major problem in the two fitting, but it just might be better to get a physical point of view somehow, it'll save you more time and money.

everything is compatable, the mobo comes with the adapter plate for the case, If you are building a gaming system, I would trade the diamond video for ATI, best you can afford, and try to change the ram to 1 1GB instead of 2 512, or 2 1gb.
Not sure why you want 2 dvd burners, but they will work
