I soooooooo love this character. The best written in the book apart from Voldemort.Also just love Alan Rickman. Perfect person to play Snape.

I totally agree....Alan Rickman plays a wonderful Snape!!! It's scary how good of a bad guy he plays!! In the majority of the books, Snape is Harry's huge enemy...sure there is voldemort...but there is always Snape sneering down at Harry! Without Snape, Harry wouldn't seem as realistic character wise. Everyone needs someone to keep us in line.....Malfoy isn't gonna do that...he's a chicken....So Yay to JK Rowling!!! Thanks for making Snape the guy he is!!!

Love Alan Rickman. Snape, not so much. In the first book, after finding out Snape wasn't the bad guy, I had hopes that there would be a reconciliation of sorts. Sadly, I was disappointed.
I'm not sure why, but I find myself continually hoping for his conversion to being a good guy.

I adore Snape. He is a very good man underneath all of that black. Alan Rickman does an excellent job playing Snape, I can't imagine anyone else!

In the books, I loathe him. But when I see Alan Rickman playing Snape on the silver screen...I melt. I love him.

All I know is that I cannot wait for the next book so that we can all discover what the real Snape is like. I just can't help but feel that Rowlings is deliberately leading us toward hating him, but holding information about him in reserve until the last book to see him as redeemed; not liked, but with a purpose for the greater good.

snape is such a good bad guy he is so complex even though all the characters hate him, he might end up saving u if it would help him at all u feel like u should hate him but u can't help loving him and even feeling sorry for him one of the VERY best written characters of the series
