guess i should have asked how does one get rid of files on hard drive so they cant go in and retrieve them they said someone had stripped the computer to try and get rid of information. basically how do they retrieve say an email you have opened but not saved on your computer.. etc etc.

Removing all the important parts of a computer:
motherboard, ram, hdd, video cards, floppy drives

She said "stripping" the computer, not "striping the data". The first answer (regarding removal of everything) is correct.

it is oone way backups are done across multiple hdd drives
