Not sure if it matters much if your UPS is dry cell or not.... but having one on your system is a smart move. I can't tell you how many times mine has saved my butt on lots of hours of work that could have been lost in seconds. The main purpose of having a UPS is to allow you to perform a graceful shutdown.

There are a whole lot of UPS's out there in the market, I'm not too familiar with the brands, but given your setup you should look for a 800VA UPS. With a monitor that should give you about 5 to 10 minutes of backup power.

You should think about getting a good power supply as well, since that's usually the first cause of hardware problems. I'd think a 350W to 400W power supply should do the trick.

I have a 550 VA UPS w/ soft shut-down software via usb cable. After 8 minutes of running on the inverter (battery) the machine automatically powers down.

I got mine on sale at Best Buy.

APC sells UPS - Mine is CyberPower, but there are oodles of brands. You might be able to use a 550, but if you're gaming when the lights go out, better make it at least 750.
