You have a bad CV joint. Probably on the driver's side. This would explain the popping and vibration.

yep, you're cv joints are out more than likely. it will require a mechanic. your boyfriend/husband will not be able to fix it. it requires special tools which the average person neither has nor know how to use. while they're at it have them check the u-joints and front end for wear. you may have damaged the tread on the front tires also. even if you fix the problem, if the front tires are warn wrong, they will continue to wear wrong.

1) how long since you balanced the tires?
2) What's the condition of the drive-train?
3) How many miles on the odometer?
Probably the tire(s) wheel(s) are unbalanced or deformed if they are OK then you have to check the suspension, steering and wheel bearings.

well you could have several problems but what i would suggest is to stop driving the thing and get it fixed. you could have a bad tire, you could have a bad ball joint, you could have a bad axle or axle bearing, you could have a bad strut or strut bearing. if the ball joint breaks enjoy the ride because it could be your last one cause you will lose steering on the left side. if the axle or axle bearing goes out you will be stuck. if the tire blows well you know what can happen there so take it somewhere and get it fixed
