I've been waiting for this question...........I can't figure out why it took so long in coming.
I ask myself the same thing. I really just don't get it.
I've ask questions on here as to why normally semi-intelligent people buy into this garbage, but most of what I got back was a bunch of rhetoric about how I can't accept the truth..........go figure.
I took solice in thinking that these people were just trying to pee in my cornflakes to see if I would respond, but from the replies I got from my questions, I got the distinct impression that these people REALLY BELIEVE that Bush orchestrated the whole thing.
Unbelievable,,,,,just absolutely unbelievable.
I'm going to keep an eye on your answers - and I bet some even include web sites and other bull crap "proof."

It starts with an administration that makes everything a big state secret, an administration that is tied to big oil, an administration that has exceeded it's authority as defined by the Constitution, an administration incapable of generating a world consensus for tackling terrorism.
What people are left with are questions of why and speculation. Instead of leading our people into this conflict, we have been dragged and left to second guess what the motives are.
There are too many loose ends and an administration that speak of the Constitution with contempt.
It is no dam wonder that people are filling in the gaps with their worst fears on both the left and the right.
Incompetence in not what America is about and we have been embarrassed on the world stage and are being damaged at home by this cowboy leadership.

Yes, I know what you mean, it defies all logic. This is some of the stuff they are looking at. You will have to admit some of this stuff can be very convincing. I took a look at it about a month ago and now I can't understand why our government does not step in and tries to answer some of these concerns.
The official government story is that 911 was orchestrated by Al Queda, which is lead by Osama bin Laden. The proof our government provided was a video with Osama confessing to the crime. The problem with the video is that the person in the video does not look like Osama bin Laden: see picture.
http://911blimp.net/vid_fakeOsamaVideo.shtml
There are many other factors that do not fit the official story. They include, secondary explosions that were seen, heard, reported, video recorded and photographed, in all three buildings.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_DkzhonpGY&mode=related&search=
Molten, beyond red hot, "steel" was video recorded coming out of the South Tower just before it collapsed. Jet fuel does not burn hot enough to turn steel to liquid.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ExrVgioIXvk&search=thermite
A chemical analysis of the solidified molten iron yeilded an explosive, called Thermate. Also, see picture of WTC beam cut using a demolition cutting charge (Thermate). Click on pic. to enlarge.
http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2006/06/341238.shtml
All these factors point to a controled demolition of the buildings and thus an inside job. We also have a video recording, where owner Larry Silverstein, admits to demolishing WTC7.

There is also a problem with the Pentagon attack. Listen to this retired general, He says, "The Plane does not fit the hole."

We will not be able to know if 911 was a government cover up, for sure, until we can get our government to conduct an independent investigation, of this tragedy. That may not happen, for the duration of this administration, since it would probably not be, in their best interest. To compound the problem, they can not afford to lose control of the government. Many people are afraid to speak up against this administration, for fear of reprisal. If the situation were to start to get out of hand, the administration could declare marshal law (a police state), on its citizens. There are still many that have not seen beyond the official story: For several years, most of the evidence was swept up.
The majority of hard evidence, that has emerged over the past few years, supports the claim that this tragedy was conducted by our own government. It did this to get the support of congress and the nation, to attack Iraq: Like another Pearl Harbor. Why would they want to do this? You best read it from their own document: The PENAC document. Pay special attention to the section entitled "Creating Tommorrow's Dominant Force" page 50 and the top of page 51, where it states we need a new Pearl Harbor attack to get the ball rolling.
http://www.newamericancentury.org/RebuildingAmericasDefenses.pdf
I have been trying to inform people of the evidence that is available to us. Would you take a look at about 8 -10 minutes of this interview with Professor Steven Jones ? It's a 45 minute video and well worth looking at, to its end. At the very least, pass it on to those you care about.

The reason people believe the Conspiracy theories are:
#1 Because its hard for people to accept that a bunch of arabs where able to immigrate to America, recieve flight training on commercial jets (which they hadn't actually trained on) and then put together the most brilliant military attack in HUMAN HISTORY since the Trojan Horse - without being caught first.
#2 Because many people know that there are right wing, neocon elements in America's government with plans to consolodate government power and push christian ideaology in the Middle East. They also believe that Israel had a hand in 9/11 because rumor has it many "prominent" jews in businesses in the WTC did not show up that morning for work.
#3 Because their are so many unaswered questions in the publics eye about 9/11.
#4 Because Bush led us into Iraq without stopping the Taliban or capturing Bin Ladin.
#5 Because the administration has bungled so many times, noone beleives what they say anymore.
#6 Because Rumsfeld and Cheyney seem to have a slush fund set up for the War on Terror to feed Haliburton and various other contractors as well as their own pockets.
Plenty other reasons to list.

Why not? There are all sorts of bits of information out there that make the terrorist seem to be only part of it. And, by the way, our economy was eroding before 9/11. I was discussing it in an economics class that March, 6 months beforehand.

Because they haven't examined all of the evidence available.
When you've heard testimony from people who can prove the building was blown up, and did not fall apart because of airplanes hitting into it, it no longer becomes a conspiracy theory.
We've got a government that is the most secretive in history and doesn't have a good track record for telling the truth.

Well obviously you have not done your homework. It would take the mind of a ten year old to see behind what really happened in the 911 incident. "MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT" 9/11 WAS AN "INSIDE JOB"
A thorough scientific analysis of the swirl of events, people, nations, motivations, propaganda, personalities and histories involved in this current moment in history, leads to only one conclusion - That clandestine forces aligned with George Bush Sr. are planning to attack the US population, blame it on Islamic terrorists and use the attacks as a pretext for a total clamp-down on dissent, basic civil liberties, normal democratic processes and In the confusion that will follow they will wage unchecked war and aggression against Iraq, and other nations, Islamic and otherwise, who have natural resources and particularly oil reserves that this shadowy group of petrochemical and arms industrialists are thirsting for. Their ultimate goal? The conquest of Eurasia. Three quarters of the worlds population and resources are to be found on the Eurasian landmass. It has been the principal focus of State Department and military strategists since presidential National Security Advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski outlined it twenty years ago as the principle American “Imperative.” Meaning - To survive, we MUST conquer. But what of all those nations that we will be conquering? According to Brzezinski and his cabal of adherents in the Military and State Department and industry for whom his writings are like a biblical tome - it’s for their own good.

Rent Farenheit 911. Michael Moore has some very good insights and his documentary allows different points of view on the issue as well as connections between Bush and Bin Laden. There is a rebuttal DVD too called Farenhype 9ll. Why not watch both and then decide? The Moore documentary is based on public information and personal interviews. I agree with his point of view.

Ditto on the first response here. The government will do anything to make a buck. It all boils down to money. 9-11 gave Bush the opportunity to invade Iraq for his own reasons. Why? What has it accomplished? Who's really benefitting from this war in Iraq? The big companies that are contracted by the government, who "donate" money to the government/president campaigns. War=$$

I'm sorry but I don't think it was terrorists who attacked. The people who were accused of being the ones on the plane and hijacking it are alive and wondering why we are posting their pictures all over. And I really don't feel like getting in detail and arguing right now about it. I don't have to convince you or anyone how I feel... that's why we live in a country that has freedom of speech. You have your feelings... I have mine. And just because I don't think it was terrorists, doesn't mean I don't like being an American. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

I could ask you:
Why do you insist on believing what the government says happened on 9/11?
And as for your question, I don't have time to go deep into it right now, but the US wanted to start a war in the middle east, and the 9/11 attacks gave them the prefect reason to do it. So even if they weren't directly involved (I strongly doubt) they definety knew about it, and the lives they sacrificed were a small price to pay, for an excuse to start an illegal war in the middle east.
