I think you are completely wrong--about the stoned masses that is. I don't know anyone who thinks this is a good idea and I work in the media. I can think of so many other newswomen who would have been superior choices.

I think they made a mistake in hiring her. But, then again, I am not a big fan of many of the news reporters. Many have political ties, and are not unbiased. She has many ties to the National Democratic party. I also do not think she is serious enough, nor experienced enough. Many of the news anchors have traveled all over the globe, embedded with troops thorugh wars, have covered serious events outside of the US. While she has done some fluff like reporting at times on serious events, I dont believe she doesnt meet the same level of experience. there were probably many reporters that were highly overlooked and disappointed at her new assignment.

This is an incredibly naive question. Let me guess. You're one of those people who think newscasters are all really journalists, with brains and experience and all that, right? You need a reality check in a real big way.
They're news readers. All of them. More like actors and beauty pageant winners than journalists. They don't write or investigate the news they deliver.
