there are some early detection tests on the market. but most tests instruct you to wait until the first day of your missed period. but for best results, if you have irregular periods (like me), you may want to wait like a week. to me, it all depends if you WANT to be pregnant or not. if you do not want to be pregnant, and are going to be stressing for an entire month about it...then the period may be late anyway! in that case, go ahead and take it the day of your missed period.

A week to 10 days should do it, but every body is different, depending on when you actually ovulated and how long implantation takes. Typically, you ovulate about two weeks after the start of your last period. That's your most fertile time. But you can get pregnant before and after, too (though it's less likely). As soon as you conceive, your body starts producing a pregnancy hormone called HCG, which doubles every day after conception. Most pregnancy tests (the at-home kind) can detect HCG at 7-10 days. Some, like "First Reponse" and such, claim to be more sensitive and pick it up sooner.

Four weeks from the first day of your last period or after you have missed a period. If you take one any sooner you will get a negative result. When you are pregnant your body releases pregnancy hormones (HCG). Each week you are pregnant your hormone level doubles. At 4 weeks pregnant or one month your body has released enough HCG to result in a positive home pregnancy test. So if you want to save yourself a lot of money don't test until you have a missed period. Good luck!

It can take up to several days AFTER your missed period was supposed to start for a home pregnancy test to be able to detect the HCG that says you're pregnant. If you want definite results sooner, you can get a blood test from a Dr., that's accurrate around 10 days after ovulation.

YOu mean like how many days after you've had sex do you have to wait before it'll be accurate? Well I guess you could wait until your next period...but if you don't wanna wait, i'd say at least 72 hours...good time would be a week though just to rule out a false negative.

for it to be accurate, you should take it the day your period is due or after. you can get a positive if you take it before then, but you could also get a false negative.
if you want to be pregnant, just try and wait patiently. if you don't want to be pregnant, take emergency birth control asap and then quit having unprotected sex.
