I think ppl are mean because they are ignorant, rude and selfish. They don't think of other ppl's feeling. They hve no respect for others, and being mean is their way of feeling worthy of our time.
It also depends wht kind of mean, kids at school are mean because they think its cool, and they show off in front of their peers. Adults are mean because they may not be happy, therefor hve nothing nice to say about others and their happiness.

BUT, if u really think about it, everyone has been mean at some point in their lives, it's just human nature, it could also be a defense mechanism, a way to defend themselves from pple being mean to them or to hurt the other person b4 the other person hurts them.

OK, enuf rambling, sorry, took it toooooooo far!! lol.

Cheers
Suerte!

Einstein asked, "Is the Universe friendly?" So then, Dr. Dyer points out that if you live in a friend, and optimistic world, that is basically what you are going to get. For the most part, people are conditioned by prior experiences to be the way they are. Whether it is mean, nice, happy, sad. Your prior days make you to what you are. Check out B.F. Skinner articles on the web.

We're only human. You're made the way you are, you are who you are. Asking why someone is mean is like asking someone why they're tall or nice. You can't always help it. But typically, mean people, some of them, get fun out of being mean. I know this because I know A LOT of a**holes

A lot of it is linked to brain chemistry. As studies have shown that any change in the chemistry of the brain leads to behaviour changes. This together with an unstable upbringing.

Because I know that the person has already felt what other people can do when they are mean. So they rather not do to other that they don't want to be done to there self.

It's just in their nature. They feel insecure and feel the need to see others suffering. It builds their ego. It's sad but it happens.
