My birthday was Aug. 16... only my Mom said happy b-day ...my brother and Dad didn't... no cake no nothing... I mean, i don't mind at all... it's ok ...BUT they've been secretly planning a birthday party for my brother's girlfriend... with cake... balloons.. dj ..music... food.. etc. behind my back... for this coming saturday ..while i'm at work...
and they don't want me to find out so that I don't feel bad... but i heard them talk about it while they thought i was sleeping... they have like the sodas and chips hidden in my brothers closet...
is that right? ...isn't sad? ..or am i trully exaggerating?
i do feel bad about it... it sucks!

Well i only feel bad cause they don't wanna tell me about it... it's not as if i were gonna get seriously angry... i mean, i understand they care more for a stranger than me... haha not really i don't understand that but really ...if they would at least tell me

i can't believe strangers will wish me a happy late b-day and my own family wouldn't haha this sucks! :(

They must be taking you for granted, because they think you'll always be there.
I can't BELIEVE they aren't even inviting you to her party!
You should ask for the day off, and go shopping, and get yourself a big chocolate cake, and eat it all yourself, poor thing. What is so good about your brothers girlfriend? Is she spoiled? You are obviously not spoiled, your happy with a "happy birthday"
If I knew you, I would throw you a big belated b-day party, and invite everyone that is going to that party, and more, and the party would be alot more fun, because it would be your party, because your awesome.

Happy Birthday Hun! I hope you can go out later and have a birthday with your friends. If it makes you feel any better (which it won't) My birthday was August 12. Summer birthdays are tough because no one remembers them with vacations and not being in school etc. Keep your chin up though. Maybe the suprise was ment for you as well. Maybe there is something else in store... if not, show them up and plan a party for them so they feel doubly bad. Kill em with kindness!

This is SAD and not very thoughtful at all!!! Your Brother not even saying Happy Birthday to you his sister but is even having a surprise Birthday Party for his girlfriend,not a Family member.Your Dad forgets or doesn't even bother to tell his own Daughter Happy Birthday,not to mention you didn't even get a cake,plus your not even able to attend his girlfriends surprise party because they planned it so you would be at work.It's not right,I could never do that to any family member.No your not exaggerating,and it does suck!!! I'm sorry for you but I'm saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!" to you...............

It is sad and you have every right to feel bad about it but don't let it bother you too much. There has to be some logical explanation as to why they didn't plan anything for you. Maybe they got awfully busy or money was tight, or something! It is really an odd situation. Maybe you should talk to them about it to clear the air. Who knows, maybe they have something even better in store for you. Maybe they feel like you are spoiled already? Only one way to find out... you should talk to them before you start to resent them.

You're right, they're wrong...very wrong...But, shake it off, you only have a few years left in their house, and then you can find someone else to make you feel special on your day. Why don't you go and celebrate with friends? Anyways, sorry you had to go through this and Happy belated Birthday!

That is just wrong you are their daughter. You should get the party not her. I would have other plans for saturday. Go to the mall or to a friends house. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

i know how you feel. on my birthday i didn't get told happy birthday by any one until i told one of my friends it was my birthday. i came home and my mom said happy birthday but i found out that was only because my friend called her.
this is random... but my mom's birthday is that same day.
I'm sorry about the whole party thing that sucks. your family should worry about your birthday not somebody else's whose out of your family.
you have the right to be sad and even angry.

very sad. I hope the surprise party for the girlfriend is really for you but don't get your hopes up.
Just luv on yourself and don't let people get you down. God for sure loves you so walk with that thought.
