If Christmas was moved back to when Jesus was actually born, which is on the first full moon after the Fall Equinox, what do you think the names would be for Christmas songs. Jingle bells on a one horse sleigh wouldn't work, as it would be too early for snow.

The Bible says that Jesus was 33 and six months old when he died, which was after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox. Every major event in the Bible, with the exception of the Exodus and his death, took place after the fall equinox. It was the choice of the Pope of the Western Christians to set it on December 25th, Eastern do it on January 5th, which is why they split from Rome. The best proof is that the Sheppards were in the fields. In the Winter, they sheep are in the sheds.

My Steve used to sing:
God rest ye merry gentlemen,
Let nothing you dismay.
Remember Christ our savior
Was born sometime in May.
[Steve's birthday was in May, but I'm sure that's just coincidence.]

Of course this is based on the opinion that Jesus was killed on that day. I agree that Jesus' birthday wasn't in December but I think it was even earlier than you say. If you remember Joseph and Mary were traveling to Joseph's birthplace to be counted in the Roman census. So in all likelihood it was around Summer. The reason Christmas is in late December is so that it could take over the Pagan holiday of Yule, December 21st where the Pagans celebrated the birth of the sun God (son of God anyone).
Just like Easter is taken from the Pagan holiday of the rebirth of Nature. So what does colored eggs and a bunny have to do with the rebirth of Christ?? or maybe those things are Pagan symbols for birth and fertility.

Fall was shearing season, they would not be in the fields. Spring Equinox is when they would be in the fields. Most biblical scholars acknoledge that somewhere closer to Easter would be when Christ was born. Christmas and Easter are actually both old Roman festivals that Christianity ended up attaching their major holidays to so that they could celebrate on recognized national holidays (and from the Emporers' perspectives later it was more efficient for the Empire, even for Constantine who looked at rectifying the clearly wrong dates but decided against it).

well i agree that Jesus' actual birthday would be earlier in the year than DEC. if you have ever been in the dessert during the winter months the sheep would have been brought in from fall pasture and keep in stalls or on the ground floor of the house.so late spring or early summer would be the more likely date of Jesus' birth. Most travel of any distance was done during the warmer dryer times of the year.
Any song that has to do with snow and sleighs would have to go.that would only leave those songs that can be sung at anytime of the year.

"Why are [insert call of a religious crew, race, gender or ethnicity the following] more beneficial relaxing to be round than [insert call of yet another religious crew, gender or ethnicity]?" i have disguised the question slightly, yet no matter when you're speaking about contributors of non secular communities, diverse races, diverse genders or diverse ethnicities, the question remains a similar one. She is largely offering us with an opinion SHE has, and asking us to inform her why she HAS that opinion. If that's not stupid, i don't recognize what's. that's completely subjective. If SHE would not recognize the answer, why ought to absolutely everyone ELSE recognize? what's weird and wonderful is that YA enable this question stand even although suggested. (certain, I suggested it - the first time I ever suggested something -to make certain no matter if or not they could delete it, and that i changed into excellent - they did not. relied on journalists must be excellent, yet so can different journalists.) except for being stupid, that question turned right into a finished abuse of this web site. It turned right into a slur adversarial to one crew on the cost of yet another, and it invited different customers to make a contribution their own slurs.

the date of December 25th actually came from a pagan holiday. The early church decided that they would make Christmas that day because it helped the early converts to Christ to celebrate it that day

We'd all end up having a barbeque by the pool and sing "So here it is merry Christmas anyone for a burger"

Where do you get the Fall Equinox timing? I'm really curious.
Advent carols wouldn't change a bit. They aren't affected by the seasons.
Only the "silly" holiday ones would change. That would be fun!
How about this one:
Fill the grill with fatty meat
Fa la la la laaaa, la la la la
Cook it fast, and eat eat eat
Fa la la la laaaaa, la la la la
Balance fries upon your plate
Fa la la, la la la, la la la
Drink and eat to celebrate!
Fa la la la laaaaaa, la la la la
Whatcha think?
