(For the minorities) (not that all of you are poor)

You ever notice how the democrats only give enough to keep you dependant?
(originally said by David C)

How they never try to find long term solutions to poverty?

Yet they tell you how much good they could do you if it werent for the republican's?

How much time do they spend portraying republican's as greedy moguls?

Gets you thinking doesn't it?
Maybe someones putting on a front?

Democrats are always saying that Republicans are the party of the Rich, but the large majority of the millionaires in the entertainment industry are Liberal Democrats- Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, David Geffen, Bruce Paltrow, George Clooney, Martin Sheen, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, Richard Gere, etc., etc.

Liberal Democratic Politicians are also very rich- John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Al Gore, The Clinton's, John Edwards, Jon Corzine, Herb Kohl, Jay Rockefeller, Diane Feinstein, Maria Cantwell, etc., etc.

What about corporate moguls, let's see- Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Ted Turner, George Soros, etc., etc.

Liberals are only interested in helping the poor stay dependent on the government. That's why they constantly block Welfare reform and Social Security reform. Liberals are only interested in looking down on the poor, and standing on the backs of the poor. Keeping people poor and ignorant, and blaming the Republicans, keeps the Democrats in power. The Democrats are not interested in solving the problem of poverty. If poverty goes away, so goes the reason to vote for Liberal Democrats.

I believe Republicans have solutions to the problem, but have been blocked at every turn. Also, and most unfortunately, the Republicans are a very weak party and pretty much let the Democrats have their way, even now that they have the majority. Until recently, the Democrats consistently had the Majority in both Houses of Congress, and ran the Judiciary. They also had the Presidency along with this many times, from FDR to Bill Clinton. Why hasn't poverty been eliminated? 60 plus years of Democrat rule in this country, and the Republicans had nothing they could do to counter it. 60 years of the Welfare State and we still need to throw more money at the millions lining up for government hand outs. Yet somehow it remains the Republicans fault that people are poor.

Liberals think of themselves as the Elite, the Aristocracy, and they look at the rest of us as Serfs. Think I'm wrong? Visit Barbara Streisand's website.

What long term solution have the Republicans come up with? Oh yeah, give the richest people in the nation a tax cut. That'll help those living in poverty won't it. The truth is, there is no long term solution to poverty, and both parties know it. All we can do it try to help as much as we can, which seems to be something that a lot of Republicans (especially on this site) do not seem willing to do. They are very adament about how they do not believe in helping the poor. They're response is that the Democrats want to help all of those people who are looking for handouts. Well, some people need a handout. Not everyone has a place to live, and in many cases its not their fault, its because people, including their government have given up on them. Yeah, there are a lot of people who abuse the system, but rather than punishing those that truly need help, would it not make more sense to punish those that abuse it? Of course, that would require "bigger" government, which they are totally against. So, their solution is to just do away with it. Does that sound like a party that is trying to help people in poverty?

The Democratic agenda can be succinctly stated in just a few words: Make Americans ever more dependent on government, and thus dependent on Democrats.
Why would any American want to give their freedom for so-called government security.
A significant part of the Democrat agenda is the war on individuality. The war on individuality goes hand-in-hand with the Democrats goal of increasing dependency on government. People who celebrate their individuality are people who are far more likely to become successful and independent. They follow their own dreams, not those of the masses; and in so doing they become more self sufficient and less dependent on government. In case you haven't noticed, Democrats aren't particularly fond of the idea of people becoming less dependent on government.
Here is a sample of some other things on there agenda:
Social Security. People must not own their own retirement accounts. The government must be in control. Control retirement, control the individual.
The United Nations. Weaken America by subjecting us to the whims of the international community through the world court and other UN institutions.
Wealth confiscation: Levy a one-time tax on the outstanding balances in privately held retirement and pension accounts.
Control pension fund investments through government regulations ... a ploy to reward Democrat-friendly unions and businesses.
Shift more and more of the tax burden to the wealthiest Americans. Now that one-half of Americans have been relieved of the responsibility of paying any income taxes, give them a free ride on Social Security and Medicare taxes as well.
Paid "Family Leave." Make employers continue to pay the salaries of employees to take the 12-week family leave for a new baby, to care for a sick relative or just because they don't like to work on Mondays.
Government paid child care for all. Make the taxpayers pay for something that should be the responsibility of the parent.
Repeal the Second Amendment. Only the government should have guns
It is quite the lure for many Americans, and many Americans take a big bite out of this lure.
Now before all of you jump up and down and scream at my statemnts keep in mind I am not a Republican either, I am a libertarian, and we have our own problems as well.

The truth is that anyone in power, or seeking power is interested in getting more power, and is not interested in the poor. Republicans claim they want the poor to work for their living so they can gut every government hand out, and get corporate companies to give them more campaign contributions. Democrats claim to help the poor in order to get their votes. Monarchs claim a divine right to lord it over the masses, and communists claim that they intend to overthrow the bourgeiose and produce a new society ruled by the proletariat.

And everyone... EVERYONE says what they think will get them more power.

I got news for you white person. There are more poor white people than minorities poor.
Long term solution to poverty would have to begin with the end to wholesale tax cuts to the very rich, who, by the way ARE ALREADY RICH! Do you know how obscene it is for the very rich to get richer, while the poor get poorer? That , my friend is the very definition of greed. You wont be happy until there are people
in the streets of New York, Phoenix, Iowa and South Dakota Dying of starvation like other third world countries.

The democrats should adopt a new symbol. Because they want to be EVERYTHING to EVERYBODY, they should drop the donkey as their symbol and use the camillion.(spelling) You know, that little creature that changes in order to blend in with it's surroundings....it doesn't really do anything but BLEND IN.
