Well if it is like the recent trends it will be the cross between the next great way to make music and remakes of others old music.
You see it in fashion ie. bell bottoms, hip huggers etc. Hairstyles. Same old thing with a twist of new.

White noise and static, if current trends continue. But the videos will feature all nude people engaging in various sex acts.
I predict that MTV will play its last music video sometime around 2008, before finally just going to a 100% line-up of totally meaningless reality-show programming.

Well, I think the next generation is going to be deaf from all the noise pollution they're encountering now-so they won't have to worry about music.

Unfortunately, it seems as though music is out, and beats are in. I would say rap and hip hop will continue to be popular and until people start picking up instruments again, we will see little music.
