When I say The Simpsons I mean in it's PRIME, you know, the first ten seasons. Ok, Ok I like SOME parts of Family Guy but overall it's just a cheap knockoff that relies too much on shock (which is getting REALLY REALLY old) and slapstick. Ok I like slapstick sometimes but normally I crave irony, satire, depth and subtlety which is why I like shows like The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Daria, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force so much better.

If you like Family Guy that's fine I was just wondering if anyone else agrees with me.

Yep. I like B& B too. And Family Guy's ok...it's just not as good as the Simpsons in it's PRIME. And I agree, the Simpsons needs to be plugged to do the good old ones justice.

The first seasons of Family Guy were probably some of the funniest shows i've ever seen on television. Simpsons, on the other hand is getting old and is not the least bit funny. I stopped watching simpsons in 2002 cause it isn't good.

The new episodes of family guy are lame too.

Yes, Family Guy is a very overrated cartoon. Peter is just a dumbed down Homer.

Family Guy is mostly inside jokes to people who are now in our thirties about our childhoods. It's really wild what the come up with.

There are similiarities, sure, but you could draw just as many between The Simsons and live action sitcoms. Just because they're both animated doesn't mean one is original and the other is derivative.
