Well, Germany has a real problem with Neo-Nazi's and you may recall last year France had massive race-related riots. In Holland in 2004, Vincent Van Goghs great grand nephew, Theo Van Gogh, was executed in the street for his documentary critical of Muslim extremism. Among other examples. Europe is much more volitile than the U.S. when it comes to racial issues.

I'm sure other countries have their problems, of course (the UK for example has a lot of racism toward Asians (Indian & Pakistani). But maybe not to the same degree.

But what I don't understand; is that 1.5 hours drive from the US/Canadian boarder is Toronto, ON. One of THE most diverse cities on the planet. I have seen very, very little racism here and the mix of cultures and races is unheared of in many if not any other parts of the world. How can one country be so close to another and yet still be so socially retarded in comparison?

i am from a so called 3rd world country where i experience our own sort of racism in terms of tribalism and classism on a daily basis and I would say it is really appalling.regarding the u.s and racism, well,it is to be expected when the poeple being maltreated don't treat themselves right in the very first place.when u have blacks treating some less have blacks as down right s****y and u expect the white man to look at you and be like hey! that is something nice,i think i can take that to another level and and he does and still yet we complain.it is said thgat people will only do to you what we allow them to,racism is being strenghtened by the fact that those being affected are fighting back on a wrong foothold

Canada does.

It makes me sad =(

An example is, retail store tend to treat Muslims and Asians poorly because they believe them to be "cheap". That's not fair.
