If you want a car that runs without giving you trouble and is cheap at the gas pump, look at a Toyota Corolla or a Nissan Altima. These are very reliable and will run forever on the cheap. A used Corolla in good shape will serve you very well. I got through college, early marriage and law school with Corollas. Not a fancy car but did the job. Now I drive a Lexus, which is even better but burns premium gas and a lot more of it.

HI gorgeous, you are asking a lot here.

First of all if you look at new cars versus used you will find there is a big difference in price. Unless you absolutely need a NEW car, look for some bargains on used cars and you will have a lot less invested in the car to begin with. Most smaller cars about 2 -3 years old will get 30 miles per gallon so they should not be a bad deal.

You will spend a lot of money to buy a new car that gets much better than 30 miles per gallon and you might only save $200 a year on gas. The car payments and depreciation will eat up the money you save on gas.

The notion that American cars are not good really burns me up. I know five guys who have American cars and they normally have 100,000 miles on them in five years with no problems. They run and last just as good as the foreign jobs. And they tend to cost less to buy and repair if something does go wrong.
Some of the small foreign cars are not safe in an accident and are uncomfortable to drive.

Some new car dealers are now crowded with good used cars 2-4 years old and might give you a good deal.

Drive safe wherever you go.

Hi, Toyota makes a car that is a hybrid called Precius( spelling ) anyway it is published to get 60 miles per gallon on the highway, the problem is they are very popular and the price reflects it.
Good Luck

If you want a car that gets really good gas mileage, then try a Geo (Chevrolet) Metro. At 40 MPG you can't get much better.
