Warm olive oil will strengthen hair and prevent breakage, if breakage is the problem. If hair loss is the problem, try Rogaine.

See your doctor and have some blood tests done. Brittle hair can be a sign of under active thyroid. If this is the case, simple meds can replace what your body isn't making, and you will feel so much better.
