Oh, please. Talk about letting the terrorists win, they've been handed victory on a silver platter.
Americans are so afraid of everything now. How many planes have been diverted recently because of iPods dropped in toilets, forgotten cell phones and obscure notes? Whatever happened to common sense? And why are American's so afraid of everything now.
The world isn't a safe place. There are speeding cars, common criminals, wild animals, the weather, earthquakes, raging oceans, germs, viruses, cancer, old age, high cholesterol, cliffs, - and, well I could go on for a long time.
People are so afraid of everything we take pills for imagined ailments, jump on every fad diet, build suburbia to keep out Mother Nature and bite their nails over the colors red, orange and yellow (the terror level alerts). We let our government and media scare us into submission and viewer ship. We have become a nation of easily led sheep, pacified with celebrity news and quick to scare over the idea of a bottle of Gatorade on a plane.
And you know something flying isn't meant to be safe. How fast and how far are you traveling above the planet in a hulk of metal filled with jet fuel? Since when did it enter anyone's head that was a safe activity?
By banning everything brought into the cabin you have let the terrorists win. They wanted to make American's scared. And guess what? They did. We're too afraid to bring books and lip gloss on a plane because they may become a weapon in the wrong hands. Too easily do today’s Americans give up liberty after hard earned liberty for the idea of their safety.

The liquids are not the issue. The automatic weapons carried by the authorities are the issue. The timing with Lieberman's losing the primary to an anti war opponent, the CIA informing Britain of this conspiracy, and the fact that because the CIA said 20 folks in Britain were thinking of doing something justifies arming the airport cops in Any town USA to further condition the populous that the state has the right to shoot you if you get out of line are the issues here.

after whats been going on, I think that not only shouldn't we be allowed to bring fluids on the plane, and I don't think we should be able to bring anything on the plane. No cell phones or electronics, no carry on bags, nothing. I also think that the luggages should be checked more thorougly.
I'm a fifteen year old kid. I have the attention span of a flea. If I can get past a five hour flight with nothing but a book as a carry on, anyone should be fine.
I do however, think that the headsets on planes should be free if people wouldn't be allowed to take on carry ons.

No the answer is getting those mean fcuks of airports to do what they should have done in the first place when people started flying - if you want proper security when travelling by plane travel with the Israeli airline El Al - they are thorough - if you want proper security it means spending some M O N E Y i.e. airline marshalls with special ordnance for the guns they carry not to pierce the fusalage - it needs R+D done on the feasibility of parachutes or ejector seats for passengers - year ejector seats - spend the bloody money - tight fisted gits !

I think hand baggage all together should be banned. Only things acceptable would be prescription medicine. If they (airlines) were smart, they'd have even these things checked and handled by the stewards and stewardesses.
Terrorism is real and we should put up with a little inconvenience for our safety while we travel. If you don't want to, stay at home.

I'm not sure what to think anymore. If it's not going to be fluids, the terrorists will undoubtedly find something else to use as a weapon.. Probably next time it will be the exploding latrine...

no it's not. if they start banning small things like that, eventually it's gonna get the point where you are not allowed to bring anything with you on airplanes when you travel. that'll suck for people that fly frequently and have nothing to take with them for change of clothes and stuff. things are getting way to parinoid.

No lotion or die, that's a tuff one!!!
I don't know if it is the answer or not, but if it helps save lives why gripe!
