I have encountered many Christians in my life and many of my closest friends are "born-again" Christians. I haven't found ANY of them to be hateful towards gays or anyone else, even if they disagree on various issues. However, this doesn't mean that there aren't some bad apples out there.
It is very sad that there is a very vocal group of bad apples that give Christians a bad name. In my opinion the same could be said about gays and other groups. There are always a few bad apples in each group that get all of the attention.

No, actually I don't think so. Hate groups will always exists and it is not just Christians that hate the gay community. As with anything, it is always a small group that makes the most noise and even if there were no christians reacting, some other group would be (like the Klan or something). Candidly, I think even in the christian community it is a smaller very vocal group creating all the hate. I think most christians are tolerant.

If gays disappeared would there be a lot less hate in/of the Christian community?
Lets not get rid of either. Variety is important.

Well I dont think all Christians hate gays. In fact many gays are Christians. The bible supports homosexuality and real christians know that. The bible denogrates hate, through Jesus' words and in many other places. But what transcends even the bible? Yes, G-d's creation of humans and it is G-d who made some men love men and some woman love woman. That "Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve" slogan is fallacious as in truth they are the ancestors of all gays, or so you should believe if you are a Christian.

really, I don't know. I think it might have that effect....but mankind always seems to have this inherent nature to hate.....we have always had wars..(and nobody ever wins a war)....lots of them over religion or greed....sorry I'm sorta thinking this through as I answer it......Christians aren't the only ones who hate gays...there are lots of other places it comes from...so the real answer is:::: No, I don't think it would stop....I think that mankind will for the forseeable future be an aggressive and warlike species...I sound really negative..but look around the world..and what's happening...and what has happened...we don't seem to be getting any better.

No. There wouldn't be. Because, for one, real Christians don't hate gays. I know all you gays out there have heard this a million times.....but REAL Christians don't hate gay people....they hate what they DO. And to anyone who calls themselves a Christian cannot Biblically hate gays. God says we are to love everyone and when we start to hate someone just because of what they are doing, that is wrong. JUST as wrong as what gays do! We are ALL sinners and we ALL are destined to go to hell. If it wasn't for Christ and His gift of salvation, we would have no choice but to go there. But because of what He did on that cross, we can have eternal life! So in closing. No. if all the REAL Christians were to disappear, all they hate would keep on going.

I disagree with your question because I am christian and I have a sister that use to be gay and she has been delivered. I do agree that some christian are judgemental and hypocrites though. They don't fully understand the order that God gave. Just because your beliefs are different that doesn't mean you can't love them as a person and pray that they come to know what they are looking for. That is what I did for my sister, although it took her being in a car wreck to realize that God was trying to reach her. We all could learn something from each other.

Nope. There would always be somebody that thinks that there way is the only way to live. Not all Christians think that being lesbian/gay or bisexual is wrong, that is just some people's view. There are many bi, lesbian/gay, and straight Christians too.

There would be a lot less, but its just religions in general seem to hate those who are different. Practice morality not religion, it just seems to lead to discrimination.
If people worried more about their own lives then the lives of others more people would be happy.

Oh, yes. Fundamental Christians are so intolerant of anybody who is not them. It really upsets me. They have the most hateful websites trashing all religions. It is heartbreaking. I know there are many wonderful Christians out there, but the fanatics are the ones that scare me.
