An unborn child is a woman's piece of property and choice just like a "n*gger" was just a piece of property and slaveowner's choice. People dehumanize the unborn child's life like whites dehumanized the value of black lives. A baby can't make a concious decision because it can't speak just like a "n*gger" wasn't smart enough because us darkies sho is stupid. Only this time lives are dehumanized in exchange for lust as slaves were for business. This time it's lust, then it was greed. They're both sins. A baby dies simply because two idiots couldn't wait until they were married to have sex, slaves were beaten and killed out of anger because they couldn't pick their damn crops fast enough. Ten minutes of temporary fun (that you even could have waited for and eventually got anyway) is not worth a child's life and lifetime of regret. Just like slavery, deep down people know its wrong but they make excuses, desensitize and delude themselves to feel less guilty.

Abolitionists were mocked as was pro-lifers are today. And by the way I'm not a Republican- I'm also anti-war, anti-death penalty and anti- raping the planet so don't be pulling that card.

Yes, I couldn't agree with you more. I always make that same argument when I'm talking to people about abortion. The pro-abortion argument centers on "choice" but the choice to do what? The choice to deprive another human being of their life. This is the same sort of choice that slaveowners demanded -- they basically thought they should be free to do what they want, the problem is that what they wanted to do was to take away the freedom of their slaves.
The Declaration of Independence states that all men are endowed by their creator with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness -- the foremost among these rights being the right to life. Slavery could not continue because it was based on depriving people of these rights. Abortion deprives people of these rights too, and I hope that because of that, abortion won't be able to continue for much longer.

There are some flaws in your logic. Not every person who seeks an abortion is some idiot who couldn't wait to get married to have sex. I am sure there are plenty of married couples who for one reason or another choose not to have the child. Also , slavery was started by white people going to another country and taking people against their will to work for them in America. Not sure how you connect that to abortion. You also assume that every person who chooses abortion regrets that decision for life. You are better off to base an argument on documentable facts instead of your own opinion.

Why would you ask for responses from only those who agree with you, I thought this site was for open discussion, and as a tool to help us discover more about the world around us. If you automatically disregard the responses you don't like, you will learn nothing.

Yes, both are sick, but this is not about politics, this is about life. About how sacredd life is and how we need to respect it. Life is something to love and be thankful for. Sure life can be Hell sometimes and life can be a problem, but that is life. Life has up's and down's. We all need to love and respect one another and try to get along. We will not be here forever, so let us all make the most of it.

Even though you wanted to hear responses that resonate with your line of thinking I decided to respond anyways. It's not abortion that is similar to slavery, rather not allowing women is related to slavery. A woman forcing her choice on an insufficiently developed glob of cells is nothing like forcing a woman to birth a child. To deny a woman the choice whether to take that glob of cells and continue to carry it to fruition or to get rid of it before it reaches a critical point in fetal development is to deny her control over her reproduction and turns her into a slave of the family who has to have babies whether she wants them or not. If you don't want to have an abortion good for you, I'm not fond of them either, but I'm less fond of the idea of enslaving our women to our reproductive desires rather than giving them a choice over their futures in favor of a small glob of cells - which can't even be called a baby until after the 1st trimester; Pro-Choicers do not support abortions beyond that point.
