Happy early birthday. Now first of all i dont know your suituation on why u feel so alone however i can say the best thing to do is go drive a school bus really I do and there r a lot of drivers your age and older they all enjoy it. You will have the feeling of looking forward to seeing your kids everyday and making a difference in their lives. and making friends with other drivers. What have ya got to lose try something different ya just might like it. Good luck.

You need to be around some people. Join a church, or take dancing lessons, or sign up for a foreign language class. Take some sort of art class or a craft class or sign up for a team sport. Do anything to meet more people. Avoid staying home alone!

We all feel alone at times .dont let a birthday get you down. im sure if you look around you have a birthday twin out there. just know there are lots of lonely people out there otherwise we wouldnt be doing what we are doing.admit it we all go to the internet out of loneliness or boredom at some time.49 is not that old either there are lots of sites to go to help lonelyness .just try starting out with hobbies maybefinding people with similar interests .there are alot of people who do care about others and want freinds,I think you probly need to get out and see a concert or something that seems to help me when i start feeling old or get case of the blues.You can check out the net and see if there are any free or inexspensive things to go do,Dont think you always have to have someone with you just get a can of mace and go.thats what i do .Of course i check out the neighborhood first too.use good sense best wishes
