dear friend,
the answers to your question:-
1) vande mataram, which means "one mother". this phrase explains to us that we indians belong to only one mother, our motherland- mother india. it also explains that we should realise that we all are one and unity is our strength.
2) "vande mataram" was composed by a bengali poet "Hrishi Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay" in his novel "Anandamath". it was used as a slogan and our national anthem by the congress before independence. so it's glory spread like a wildfire all over india and so it is famous.
3) after independence, the indian felt that this song had some flaws like, (a) it had many sanskrit words and (2) it almost praised only hindus. so "jana gana mana" by tagore was chosen as the national anthem and "vande mataram" as the national song.
4) we should sing it with proud because it sings the glory of ancient india and its beauty. it ahs the power to arouse the spirit of unity among indians. if you listen to it you will be attracted towards it. it was already been awarded as one of the most sensational national songs in the world. to tell you the other truth is that "vande mataram" represents "indians" because mother india is no godess wearing a white saree and has long hairs; it just represents the whole indain people.
so next time you bow to our national falg and say "vande mataram" or "jai hind". know that you are bowing to your own people. thats our spirit and that makes all indians "one"
