Start searching for clues in the area in which I lived. Digging thru photo albums, boxes, and drawers at home. Walking around the neighborhood and talking to people who know me.

Years ago I was in an auto accident. Stupidly, I wasn't wearing a seatbelt and my head hit the windshield.

I had a concussion; and for several hours after the crash had no-short term memory.

When I finally came out of it. The nurses at the ER told me I kept asking the same questions over and over again. They'd answer them, but I wouldn't remember the answers and ask again.

Finally, someone wrote the questions -- and answers -- on a piece of paper and pinned them to my hospital gown. Of course, I didn't remember to look at it, so I kept asking the questions.

I still have no memory of anything from about an hour before the accident until six or seven hours after.

So I guess that if I suddenly lost my memory, I'd start asking a lot of questions. I hope I'd still have short-term memory so I could remember the answers.

To what extent?

If I can't remember how to breath or make my heart beat, the first thing I would do is die.

If my basic body functions are still intact, but I can't remember how to speak, walk or talk, I suppose the first thing would be drool on myself.

Other than that, your question is a bit silly.

Be happy as hell...'cause I wouldn't know any better! You would be forced to live in the moment...and nothing else would matter...so as long as your moment was good...it is all that exists for you. I just hope my loved ones would see fit to provide me with happy moments...but even if it weren't so...I'd forget it soon enough. It would be impossible to hold a grudge!

Look for one person in whom I could put my trust to help guide to the life I had lost...a risky arrangement, but what else can you do.

I wouldn't remember losing it. So I wouldn't know I had one I lost.
