Well the first thing you need to do is to find the common demoniator which would be 20 so you would have...
so i will try to do this step by step
2 3/4 + 3 4/5 (20 is the common demoniatro so than you would multiply the top numbers by 5 and 4
so you would
2 15/20 + 3 16/20
than you add the 15 and 16 and than add the 2 and 3 so you should have
5 31/20
now ifyou have to reduce it i think it would be 131 if i remember right you have to multiply 20 * 5 and add the 31 but dont quote me on that part

Since someone has already given you the answer, at least you can see how to get it... You really need to learn these things. You won't have the Yahoo! answers users to help with your tests!

You need to find a common denominator for 3/4 and 4/5, which would be 20. 3/4 = x/20? 4/5 = y/20?
You have to do a little work here.

3/4 = 15/20 ; 4/5 = 16/20
Add up = 31/20 , = 1 + 11/20
So, total is 6 and 11/20 ...Maths is about practice.
