I really liked both of them but I don't enjoy his darker comedy as much

Agree with first answer but also check out-"What's up Tiger Lilly?"
He took a Japanese(i think) gangster film and put all new dialogue in.
"Casino Royale" his take on James Bond
"Take The Money and Run"
same crazy as the ones you mentioned

Try "Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Sex, But Were Afraid to Ask" or "Play It Again, Sam".

Try "Love and Death;" it's my favorite of the "early" comedies.
